Dogs of Otavalo
April 21-28, 2017
Casa Mojanda, Otavalo, Ecuador
CHASE and Caring Hands Animal Hospital are proud to announce our partnership with the Dogs of Otavalo mission. Our doctors, Michelle Vitulli, Jeffery Newman, and Dr. John Bruzzese, along with our Vet Technician Kim will be volunteering their time and expertise to this important mission.
Our mission is to build a bridge to bring resources and education to communities where there is a need. Our goal is to bring a combination of medical help to the pets and educational support to the families in both Otavalo and Cotacachi. We will focus on spay/neuter for pets 8 weeks and older. Vaccinations, heartworm testing, flea preventative and other services will also be provided at no cost. In April 2017, we have received a blessing from Amici Cannis foundation to use their beautiful hospital in Cotacachi alongside their medical director, Dr. Marcela Pineda and the founder Dr. Heather Steyn.
We are hoping to raise $20, 000 for veterinary medical supplies and other expenses to improve the lives of the four-legged residents and to provide basic preventative veterinary care. Neutering and vaccinating these homeless animals will not only lower the number of these feral pets but it will also decrease the amount of sick pets in the community.
